His toe nail ripped off and started bleeding. I put the powder that stops bleeding on there. Is there anything else I should do?

A ripped toenail of a dog is very painful and can make quite the mess.  I am not sure of the details and without actually seeing the toenail it is impossible to say for certain if that is enough.  Depending on how bad it is, it may be best to have a veterinarian look at it and see if there is any specific treatment for your situation that you required.  In general, broken toenails are quite common.  It sounds like the nail ripped off, which is generally the best case scenario as it can start the healing process.  Syptic powder, or corn starch can stop the bleeding, which sounds like you are already using as well.  Aside from that, it is just a matter of keeping it clean and comfortable.

However, if you are having issues with it continuing to bleed, or keeping it clean, it should definitely be seen by a veterinarian, as they can clean it more thoroughly with a trained staff give any necessary medications and clean properly, in addition, to perform a bandage to help the torn toenail past the first few days in which it is generally the most difficult to manage.  There is also some advice on treating a bleeding nail on one of the VetBabble webpages on how to trim toenails here:  https://www.vetbabble.com/dogs/grooming-dogs/trimming-dogs-nails/
