Wednesday my cat got congested from a cold. he was eating fine until sat, he begs for food and does his usual following around waiting for food but when we give it to him he can’t smell it from being stuffed up in his nose so he won’t eat but he’s still drinking water

There can be many reasons why a cat is not eating. Here is an article that talks about this very subject as long as some things to try to encourage your cat to eat.  This could include using another food that smells more strongly, such as wet food if you are feeding dry, using broths, or mixing foods and a few other options:

However, it is important that your cat does eat and if has been more than a day since your cat has not eaten, it is important to get your cat to a vet so that it can get the appropriate medications, whether it be for something to help with the congestion, an appetite stimulant or combination of treatments if it is related to the congestion.  There is also the possibility that it is something else wrong in which a proper physical exam and history from a consultation would greatly help in finding the underlying cause for your cat’s lack of appetite.
