Any time there is a traumatic injury where your pet is not able to walk, it should be seen by a veterinarian straight away.  While you are waiting to see a veterinarian or get an appointment, you can try to keep her comfortable, but without a proper evaluation to see if the cause of not walking is due to pain or damage to the nervous system, it is impossible to decide the best treatment.  In the best case scenario, it is just a soft tissue injury and the symptoms will begin to resolve within 48-72 hours of the initial injury as that is the peak inflammatory phase of an injury.   However, if there are broken bones or neurological injuries involved, the early treatment can make a big difference in outcomes.
