My dog developed a small blackish skin tag on the back of her hind leg a few weeks ago and it has doubled in size, is this a big concern that it’s cancer?

Skin tags are fairly common on dogs and generally not a concern.  However, they can also be malignant (cancerous) and require surgery.  It is best to identify them as soon as possible.  I would recommend you go to a veterinarian request to have a fine needle aspirate (FNA) performed to verify it is benign.  They can sometimes test to see if there are fatty cells on the aspirate while at the clinic.  However, they generally need to be sent to a lab to be looked at by a pathologist.
