hi Guys I’m a first time dog owner and my puppy just threw up and has watery poop. My sister in law did just change the puppy food to wet and dry puppy chow mixed to just dry food. Could that be the cause? Or what should I do?

The most common cause for digestive issues which cause vomitting and diarrhea in puppies are eating something they shouldn’t, parasites such as worms, or changing the diet suddenly.  There are certainly other causes of digestive issues, including illness caused from infectious causes or genetic/metabolic abnormalities, and some of these could be determined depending on physical exam findings, the history of whether or not the puppy has been exposed to other diseased animals and vaccination status of the mom.

Given the symptoms described, it is extremely important to visit a veterinarian as soon as possible if you have not already done so.  They can make sure your puppy is properly vaccinated and dewormed.  Additionally, they will be able to give you advice on determining the root cause and any potential diet changes to try if it is warranted.
