My 9 year old male golden has bone cancer in his lower lt rear leg, can it be amputated right above the knee joint?

I’m very sorry to hear about your dog being diagnoses with Bone Cancer. Typically, yes, they can amputate above the knee joint, but it depends on many factors on whether or not this is the best option.  Amputation for Bone cancer generally is not curative but can help with comfort.
